LASU Aggregate Score Calculator

LASU is reported to use a 50 : 50 split between your UTME score and your O'level grades, with no separate post-UTME test score.

How LASU calculates your aggregate score

Aggregate = UTME ÷ 8 + O'level points (out of 50). The weighting is UTME 50%, O'level 50%.

• The UTME part is your JAMB score divided by 8 (out of 50).
• O'level points are A1 = 10, B2 = 9, B3 = 8, C4 = 7, C5 = 6 and C6 = 5 for five subjects (out of 50).
• If LASU holds a written screening test for your year, use the custom formula on the main aggregate calculator.

LASU aggregate score worked example

A candidate with 275 in UTME and O'level grades A1, B2, B2, B3, C4 scores:

• UTME: 275 ÷ 8 = 34.38 (out of 50)
• O'level: A1 = 10, B2 = 9, B2 = 9, B3 = 8, C4 = 7 → total 43 (out of 50; A1 = 10 per subject)
• Aggregate = 34.38 + 43 = 77.38 out of 100

What aggregate score do I need for LASU?

There is no single pass mark. After screening, LASU publishes departmental cut-off marks for each course, and they change from year to year with the number of applicants. Competitive courses such as Medicine, Law, Nursing and Pharmacy always need a much higher aggregate than the general cut-off.

Enter last year's cut-off for your course as the target in the calculator to see the UTME score you would need to reach it.

Before you rely on the result

Lagos State University does not publish one fixed formula that stays the same every year. This calculator uses the method most widely reported for recent screening exercises. Compare it with the formula in LASU's current post-UTME or screening notice, and if the weights differ, change them under "Change the formula" and the result updates.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the LASU aggregate score calculated?

LASU is reported to use a 50 : 50 split between your UTME score and your O'level grades, with no separate post-UTME test score. In short: Aggregate = UTME ÷ 8 + O'level points (out of 50).

Does LASU add O'level grades to the aggregate?

Yes. O'level grades are worth 50 of the 100 marks, so a better grade in each required subject raises your aggregate. Grades below C6 earn no points and usually mean you don't meet the course requirements.

Does LASU hold a post-UTME test?

LASU has been reported to screen with UTME and O'level results instead of a scored written test. If your year has a test, use the custom formula on the main aggregate calculator page.
