UNILAG Aggregate Score Calculator
UNILAG combines three parts: your UTME score converted to 50 marks, your post-UTME screening test scored out of 30, and your five O'level credits worth up to 20 marks.
How UNILAG calculates your aggregate score
Aggregate = UTME ÷ 8 + post-UTME (out of 30) + O'level points (out of 20). The weighting is UTME 50%, post-UTME 30%, O'level 20%.
- The UTME part is your JAMB score divided by 8, so 400 becomes 50.
- The post-UTME test is reported to be marked out of 30 and added as it is. Candidates who score very low in the test are reported to be disqualified whatever their UTME score.
- O'level points are A1 = 4, B2 = 3.6, B3 = 3.2, C4 = 2.8, C5 = 2.4 and C6 = 2 for five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
- UNILAG has asked for a UTME score of at least 200 with UNILAG as first choice before you can apply for screening.
UNILAG aggregate score worked example
A candidate with 280 in UTME and 22 in the post-UTME test (out of 30) and O'level grades A1, B2, B3, C4, C6 scores:
- UTME: 280 ÷ 8 = 35 (out of 50)
- Post-UTME: 22 out of 30 = 22
- O'level: A1 = 4, B2 = 3.6, B3 = 3.2, C4 = 2.8, C6 = 2 → total 15.6 (out of 20; A1 = 4 per subject)
- Aggregate = 35 + 22 + 15.6 = 72.6 out of 100
What aggregate score do I need for UNILAG?
There is no single pass mark. After screening, UNILAG publishes departmental cut-off marks for each course, and they change from year to year with the number of applicants. Competitive courses such as Medicine, Law, Nursing and Pharmacy always need a much higher aggregate than the general cut-off.
Enter last year's cut-off for your course as the target in the calculator to see the post-UTME score you would need to reach it.
Before you rely on the result
The University of Lagos does not publish one fixed formula that stays the same every year. This calculator uses the method most widely reported for recent screening exercises. Compare it with the formula in UNILAG's current post-UTME or screening notice, and if the weights differ, change them under "Change the formula" and the result updates.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is the UNILAG aggregate score calculated?
UNILAG combines three parts: your UTME score converted to 50 marks, your post-UTME screening test scored out of 30, and your five O'level credits worth up to 20 marks. In short: Aggregate = UTME ÷ 8 + post-UTME (out of 30) + O'level points (out of 20).
Does UNILAG add O'level grades to the aggregate?
Yes. O'level grades are worth 20 of the 100 marks, so a better grade in each required subject raises your aggregate. Grades below C6 earn no points and usually mean you don't meet the course requirements.
How much does the UNILAG post-UTME score count?
The post-UTME is worth 30 of the 100 marks. Each mark you gain in the test adds 1 to your aggregate, against 0.13 for each UTME mark.
